  • RE: Inductance of TCP305A

    Fri, 30 Sep 2022 19:54:31 GMT – Inductance of TCP305A

    Hello,

    The TCP305 has Insertion Impedance of 0.02 Ohm @ 1 MHz, 0.1 Ohm @ 10 MHz, and 0.35 Ohm @ 50 MHz.

You can find this spec on page 50 of the user manual linked below.

  • RE: TBS2000 Series Incorrect voltage and frequency reading

Fri, 30 Sep 2022 19:54:29 GMT – TBS2000 Series Incorrect voltage and frequency reading

    Hello,

The frequency reading in the bottom right is the trigger frequency and will not show a frequency under 10Hz. To get the correct measurement for your signal, you can push the Measure button and then add a Frequency measurement for the channel in question. When you have the correct channel selected, push the Multipurpose knob to add the measurement and it will show on the bottom left side of the screen.

Just so I am clear, the amplitude you are changing is the amplitude of the signal and not the vertical scale, correct? The voltage value in the bottom left next to the channel badge is for the vertical scale. Are you using a measurement to find the voltage value? If not, you can add an Amplitude measurement from the same menu as above.

  • RE: TPP0500B Incompatibility with DPO 7254 Oscilloscope

    Fri, 30 Sep 2022 19:54:27 GMT – TPP0500B Incompatibility with DPO 7254 Oscilloscope

    Hello,

Yes, the TPP0500B is a newer probe and physically keyed to prevent attachment/confusion with older incompatible scopes. (i.e. the DPO7254 does not have the electrical circuitry required to support the TPP0500B).

For a new probe, I recommend the P6139B, a similar probe (500 MHz, 10x) that works with your DPO7254. For completeness, the P6139A also works but isn't in production. The only difference between the P6139A and P6139B is the tip diameter (which only impacts tip accessories compatibility, not scope compatibility). If you already have P6139A probes on-hand, that is the ideal choice.

  • RE: DMM6500 Included software

    Fri, 30 Sep 2022 19:54:25 GMT – DMM6500 Included software

    Hi,

Unfortunately Kickstart is no longer free. In its infancy there was a free version offered with new instruments, but that has not been the case for a couple years now. There is a full programmers manual available on our website that steps through all the available methods of programmatic control of the instrument through individual SCPI or TSP commands, but if you are looking for a plug and play control software then purchasing a Kickstart License is the only option. Depending on the intended use it is likely that you would only have to purchase a license for a specific Kickstart App as opposed to buying access to the entire suite. Kickstart does also come with a 30 free trial with access to all of the apps so that you can decide which best fits your need and if it is worth the investment for you.

  • RE: Importing files into Matlab from my MSO58

Fri, 30 Sep 2022 19:54:21 GMT – Importing files into Matlab from my MSO58

    Hello,

I don’t personally have much experience scripting with Matlab, but we do offer some sample/example/demo scripts on the Tektronix forums and Github pages. I would suggest referencing these or even building your code from these examples. The ‘simple plot’ script and demo video discuss how to collect data from the scope and then plot that data, similar to what you are requesting.

  • RE: How to save wave form to. csv files format on my MDO3000 Series scope

Fri, 30 Sep 2022 19:54:15 GMT – How to save wave form to. csv files format on my MDO3000 Series scope

    Hello,

You can change the file format of the waveform by going into the File Details page of the Save Waveform menu. On the side of this page, you will see the options for .isf or ,csv. Push the button next to .csv so it is highlighted and then push the button next to OK Save. To convert your .isf files into .csv files, you can recall them using the Recall Waveform menu and then re-save them.

  • RE: how to get 2 complementary signals from the AFG31021

Fri, 30 Sep 2022 19:54:14 GMT – how to get 2 complementary signals from the AFG31021

    Hello,

The AFG31021 alone will not meet your requirement as neither a two channel model or feature differential output. If you have access to a second AFG31XX1 you can use the Multi-Unit Sync functionality to create the needed waveform. You can find information about Multi-Unit Sync starting on page 50 (PDF page 72) of the user manual.

The second option would be to use an AFG31XX2 model. This would allow you to create a waveform in channel 1, and then set channel 2 as the compliment.
