    Thu, 29 Sep 2022 23:11:50 GMT – RSA306B Bit Stream

It is not possible to get demodulated data the RSA306B for a GFSK modulated signal. However it can capture then demod to a symbol table. Also, IQ data can be imported to MATLAB for further processing.

  • RE: TBS1000C BIOS up to date?

    Thu, 29 Sep 2022 23:11:49 GMT – TBS1000C BIOS up to date?

    Hello,

    To confirm the firmware version:
    a. Push the Utility button.
    b. Push the Config side-menu button.
    c. Use the Multipurpose knob to select and click System Status to open the System Status message screen.

Version 1.29.30 is the latest version of fw: https://www.tek.com/en/support/software/firmware/tbs1000c-series-firmware-release-v12930

Instruction for loading the new firmware can be found in the user manual: https://www.tek.com/en/manual/oscilloscope/tbs1000c-series-oscilloscope-tbs1000-digital-storage-oscilloscope-077157101

  • RE: MSO5204 BIOS defaults (RTC battery failure?)

Thu, 29 Sep 2022 23:11:47 GMT – MSO5204 BIOS defaults (RTC battery failure?)

The battery should be on the COM-E Carrier board. The battery should be a CR2032/HF1N. (with solder tabs)
See the service manual at the link below for instrument modules and disassembly.
    https://www.tek.com/en/oscilloscope/dpo70000-mso70000-manual-6

And of course you can send the MSO5204 into our factory service department and they can do the work.
To set up a repair RMA (model and serial number)
    call 1-800-833-9200 opt 2.
Or send an email to rmarequest@tektronix.com

  • RE: DPO4104 Battery Removal and sanitiziation procedure

Thu, 29 Sep 2022 23:11:46 GMT – DPO4104 Battery Removal and sanitiziation procedure

The only battery is a dry 3V 150mAh, lithium button cell to maintain internal code and non user accessible data, no need to remove for Declassification/sanitize.

The "remove power" is only power down the DPO4104, unplug it from the wall outlet.

  • RE: Battery Pack for THS3014 - Power Cord Assembly

Thu, 29 Sep 2022 23:11:43 GMT – Battery Pack for THS3014 - Power Cord Assembly

The part number for external AC-DC power supply to run THS3014 is 119-7900-03 we have stock and the cost is about $422.00

If you need the battery pack look for the Fluke "BP291"
We do not have the battery packs any more.
Some distributors my have the BP291 in stock.

The battery charging base, THSCHG, is the separate battery charger and is obsolete and unavailable.

  • RE: Bandwidth limitation on MSO68B

    Thu, 29 Sep 2022 23:11:40 GMT – Bandwidth limitation on MSO68B

    Hello,

The reason why turning on channel 3,4,7, or 8 reduces the bandwidth of all channels to 5GHz is because certain channels share the two ADCs within the scope. As more/certain channels are turned on, the bandwidth of the sample rate will decrease because a portion of the ADCs processing power is being used by another channel. Below I explain a breakdown of what channels should be used to receive certain sampling rates and bandwidth.
    • With MSO68B channels 1 and 5 ON (2, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8 off), the scope can sample at 50GS/s and 10GHz.
    • With MSO68B channels 1, 2, 5, and 6 ON (3, 4, 7, and 8 off), the scope can sample at 25GS/s and 10GHz.
    • With the MSO68B with all channels ON, the scope can sample at 12.5GS/s and 5GHz.

This information can be found in the Performance Verification Manual on Page 22-24: https://www.tek.com/en/manual/oscilloscope/6-series-b-mixed-signal-oscilloscope-specifications-and-performance-verification-6-series-mso

The max sample rate associated with each channel can also be found above the scope channels on the front of the oscilloscope.

I hope this helps clarify the how the scope channels are related.

  • RE: Is the AFG31022 backwards compatible to the AFG3022C?

Thu, 29 Sep 2022 23:11:38 GMT – Is the AFG31022 backwards compatible to the AFG3022C?

    Hello,

The AFG31022 will cover the same use use cases as the AFG3022C as well bringing some additional functionality to the table, particularly with its optional sequencer software. It may not strictly be a drop-in replacement programmatically though, existing scripts and programs will likely require modification depending on how they are configured (although the basic instrument controls are very similar). For reference, the programmers manual covers the command set of the AFG31000 Instruments: https://www.tek.com/en/signal-generator/afg31000-function-generator-manual/afg31000-series-arbitrary-function-generator-0

  • RE: AWG5200 Upgrades

    Thu, 29 Sep 2022 23:11:37 GMT – AWG5200 Upgrades

The corresponding options for this instrument would be AWG5200-8-2550 and AWG5200-8DIGUP (which requires AWG5200-8-2550). Regarding up conversion, the answer is maybe. But it's still subject to more limitations than the question suggests as the center frequency can be half the output sample rate without additional DDR limitations. Please refer to page 67 of this document: https://download.tek.com/manual/AWG5200-Arbitrary-Waveform-Generator-Printable-Help-Document-077133400-REVA.pdf to see the details of the digital upconversion functionality.
